Seasoned marketers know that deliverability is important in email marketing. Building an email list is hard work – and you need good engagement. So we can’t send to inactive subscribers and undeliverable email addresses. That’s why marketers use email verification tools to make sure emails hit customers’ inboxes.
For this article, I’ve reviewed and tested over 30 email checkers. I chose what my experience showed are the best email verification tools out there. With a full explanation of what email verification is and what to look for in email validation software. And details about features, prices, pros and cons for each tool.
Best Email Verification Tools – Our top Picks
While we’ve listed 10 email verification services in total, the review came out clearly with some favourites.
Here’s the quick overview of the best tools in 5 categories.
- Best for accuracy – A lot of the services I tested proved pretty accurate with their verification. They kind of have to be. But Bouncer is the one I trusted most. Mainly because it uses so many different validation steps. It’s also proven to be reliable and you can use it for very high-volume bulk verification.
- Best speed – In my tests, Emailable helped me get verification results the fastest because it’s so easy to use and fast. Its Monitor feature also lets you schedule list validation.
- Best price – With per-email prices ranging from $0.002 to $0.007, Bouncer is the cheapest service I tested. And it gets even cheaper for larger volumes. EmailListVerify is also a good deal, with prices starting at $0.004 per email.
- Best customer support – I really enjoy the way Bouncer helps you get started. New customers get a dedicated support person to talk to via email, live chat and phone. It also offers person-to-person technical support for API integrations.
- Most Integrations – ZeroBounce has 45 direct integrations with platforms like ActiveCampaign, GetResponse, Hubspot, Brevo, and Shopify. A lot of email verification services rely on integration tools like Zapier and Make.

What to Look for in an Email Verification Tool
I’ve learned a lot from using different email verification software over the years. A growing email list changes your validation needs. When choosing an email verification tool, make sure that it grows with you. You’ll need an email checker that allows bulk data upload. And one that won’t cost a fortune for a big email list.
Some email scrubbing tools have free versions or free trials. You can try them out to find out if they have the integrations and accuracy you need.
Here are the 6 “make-or-break” features I look for in email verification software:
- Accuracy. A good email verification service should validate emails accurately. You should expect an accuracy rate of at least 95%. Otherwise, you risk sending to an unacceptably large number of suspect emails you thought were valid.
- Speed. Verification speed is important, especially for businesses verifying large email lists or running real-time verification. A reliable service should be able to process thousands of emails within minutes without compromising accuracy. Real-time verification via an API helps to validate email addresses at sign-up.
- Reporting. There’s more to email verification than whether an email is valid or not. Look for services that report on the reasons why emails fail verification. This will help you identify patterns of where you might be picking up risky emails. Additional insights into bounce risks also help you to improve deliverability.
- Price. Look for pricing that suits how many emails you need to verify. And how often you need to use it. Many services offer discounts for bulk volumes. Pay-as-you-go keeps costs low for ad hoc use. But subscription plans can work out cheaper if you verify emails regularly.
- Support. Look for services with 24/7 support via live chat, email, or phone. Additional resources like knowledge bases, API documentation, and developer assistance are also valuable for getting started quickly.
- Integrations. Integrations let you quickly transfer and clean emails from the tools you already use. Look for integrations with your CRM, email marketing software, marketing automation platform, and landing page builder.
